The Gear number (1–6) represents the portfolio's equity allocation in steps of roughly 20%. Gear 1 is 100% debt ETFs (very conservative), Gear 6 is 100% equity (aggressive). Gear 3 is approximately 40% equity, Gear 5 is 80% equity. Higher gears carry more growth potential and more short-term volatility.
With a mutual fund you own units in a pooled vehicle. With Gulaq you own the constituent stocks and ETFs directly in your demat account — giving you full transparency, no fund overlap with other holdings, and direct control over your capital gains.
